Background and Rationale 

To equip participants with the skills, frameworks, and practical tools to assess the technical, financial, economic, 
environmental, social, and institutional viability of projects before committing scarce resources. 

Programme Objectives 
By the end of the course, participants will be able to:

▪ Conduct financial and economic appraisals 
▪ Identify and manage project risks 
▪ Assess value for money and affordability 
▪ Make evidence-based go/no-go investment decisions 
Methodology 
An experiential, case-based, workshop-driven methodology combining applied financial analysis, simulations, peer 
review, and policy contextualisation.

Facilitator  
Nathaniel Munetsi 
Nathaniel is an accomplished infrastructure and project finance specialist involved in early-stage, upstream project 
preparation work and downstream financing of complex infrastructure projects.  
He is proven in providing strategic financial advisory in the structuring and packaging of complex PPP infrastructure 
projects from feasibility up to financial close.  
Nathaniel has demonstrated his professional acumen in end-to-end investment transaction management from 
origination, due diligence, deal structuring, presentation to credit committees, negotiation of term sheets and deal 
closure on infrastructure, project and corporate finance transactions in South Africa and within the Southern 
African countries and markets. 

Nathaniel holds a Master’s degree in Business Leadership (MBL), an undergraduate Bachelor’s degree in Business 
Studies (BBS) and a Diploma in Financial Management (DipFM).  
He is an APMG Certified PPP Practitioner, an accredited CP3P Trainer, and a member of the World Association of 
PPP Units and Professionals (WAPPP)
