Dr Thomas heads for the African Development Bank
The SADC-DFRC Board of Trustees hosted a farewell cocktail in honour of Dr Rosalind H Thomas, CEO for SADC-DFRC on the 30th March 2007 at the Gaborone International Convention Centre. The Vice Chair of the Board, Mr Oaitse Ramasedi and the Chair of the DFI Subcommittee, Mr David Nuyoma in their speeches at the occasion highlighted Dr Thomas’ unwavering commitment to the DFI Network and her excellent work and achievements at the DFRC as its founding CEO including: development of its first five-year Strategic Business Plan (2004-9), two- year Work Programmes and Financial Sustainability Strategy.
Her tenure saw the DFRC embark on implementation of initiatives on institutional strengthening, financial sector strengthening and reform, SME development and Infrastructure/PPP delivery. Institutional strengthening activities encompassed various training programmes on Corporate Governance, Project Management and Investment Appraisal and Risk Analysis for DFIs staff.
Dr Thomas has been appointed Director of NEPAD, Regional Integration and Trade Department at the African Development Bank. She takes up her appointment at the bank on 1st June 2007.
