UNISA School of Business Head visits
The Acting Executive Director of UNISA’s Graduate School of Business Leadership, Professor Valiant Clapper visited the SADC Development Finance Resource Centre to acquaint himself with the activities of the DFRC and discuss opportunities for collaboration on 14th March 2012. Professor Klapper, who was accompanied by SBL International Manager, Mr. Zack Kone, and Deputy Director – Marketing and Communication, Ms. Cristal Peterson, met and held wide ranging discussions with Mr. Stuart Kufeni, Chief Executive Officer, and Dr. Herrick Mpuku, Programmes Manager on future cooperation between the two institutions.
The CEO of DFRC briefed Professor Clapper on the objective, activities and achievements of the DFRC in its 9 years of existence in the field of development finance. He emphasized the role of the DFRC in capacity building of DFIs in terms of human resources and systems and policies, as well as policy advice to governments in the region. He indicated that the DFRC had run a number of management development programmes in the past, was considering further strategic partnerships to enhance its role in the DFIs. Professor Clapper confirmed the desire of the SBL to work with the DFRC in its management development programmes. He indicated that UNISA SBL was one of the leading business schools in Africa with a wide international customer base.
