Mobilising Domestic Capital for Regional Development _ Daily News BW
The SADC Development Finance Resource Centre (SADC-DFRC) is pleased to be featured in today’s edition of the DailyNews, under the headline “Domestic funding vital – official.”
In the interview, SADC-DFRC Executive Director, Mr Zwelibanzi Sapula, underscores the importance of mobilising domestic financial resources, including pension funds and other institutional capital, to finance critical infrastructure and reduce the region’s reliance on external borrowing.
He also highlights the important role of Development Finance Institutions and Public-Private Partnerships in:
- Developing bankable regional infrastructure projects
• Crowding in private-sector investment
• Strengthening regional value chains and intra-SADC trade
• Supporting implementation of the African Continental Free Trade Area
• Advancing Africa’s emerging financial architecture for development
Through its coordination of the SADC DFI Network and the SADC Public-Private Partnership Network, SADC-DFRC remains committed to strengthening institutional capacity, supporting project development and mobilising finance for transformative regional initiatives.
We extend our appreciation to DailyNews and the Botswana Press Agency for highlighting this important development-finance agenda.
