DFRC Strengthening Development Finance Institutions Across SADC
The SADC-DFRC continues to strengthen Development Finance Institutions (DFIs) across the region, driving efforts to mobilise finance at scale and unlock sustainable, inclusive growth across SADC.
In a recent feature by Botswana Guardian, the Centre highlights its strategic focus on blended finance, climate-aligned investments, and improving the bankability of projects, while building institutional capacity and advancing regional integration.
Under the leadership of CEO Mr Zwelibanzi Sapula, SADC-DFRC is positioning itself as a catalyst for development finance by:
- Strengthening DFI capacity and resilience
- Supporting policy, research, and advisory services
- Mobilising financial and technical resources
- Advancing project preparation and bankable pipeline
These efforts are critical in accelerating investment in key sectors such as energy, transport, agriculture, and digital systems, ultimately contributing to job creation, industrialisation, and poverty reduction across the region.
“Our task is to catalyse development finance so that regional integration and transformation are not just aspirations, but realities.” – CEO, Zwelibanzi Sapula
