The Southern African Development Community – Development Finance Resource Centre (SADC-DFRC) is seeking to fill the position of Chief Executive Officer (CEO). Established in 2003 under the SADC Protocol on Finance and Investment (FIP), SADC-DFRC serves as a central resource shared among Development Finance Institutions (DFIs) within the SADC region.

Job Title: Chief Executive Officer (CEO)
Location: Gaborone, Botswana
Contract: Fixed-term contract for 5 years, renewable once for an equal period

Job Description: As the CEO, you will provide strategic direction, policy guidance, and ensure the DFRC’s mandate is realized. Reporting to the Board of Trustees, your responsibilities include overseeing the development and implementation of a comprehensive strategic plan, work programs, and operational budgets. You will also be responsible for skilled resource acquisition, people management, stakeholder management, and resource mobilization.

Requirements:

• Master’s degree in Economics or a related field.

• Minimum of 10 years post-graduate experience, with at least 5 years in a similar role or senior management position.

• Experience delivering programs, policy research, or high-level advisory services in donor-funded institutions or similar.

• Knowledge and experience working in Development Finance Institutions is advantageous.

• Diplomatic savviness to interact and navigate with SADC leadership.

• Proven track record of successful partnerships and collaborations.

• Strong leadership skills and ability to lead resource mobilization among DFIs Network.

• Excellent communication and presentation skills.

• Age 50 years or younger, citizen of SADC Member States.
