The National Planning Commission (NPC) held an inaugural engagement with the SADC Development Finance Resource Centre (DFRC) to explore opportunities to strengthen project preparation, improve project bankability and enhance public investment planning.

The delegation led by Mr Zwelibanzi Sapula accompanied by Ms Chazha Ludo Macheng, follows the SADC-DFRC’s meeting with His Honour the Vice President and Minister of Finance, Mr Nkosinathi Gaolathe, on 13 July 2026, during which discussions included the development of a pipeline of bankable projects and opportunities to strengthen project preparation and financing.

In the course of that engagement, His Honour emphasised the importance of the SADC-DFRC developing a close working relationship with the National Planning Commission (NPC),recognising the NPC’s central role as a source and coordinating institution for Botswana’s national development project pipeline.

The engagement marks an important step towards developing bankable, investment-ready projects that can accelerate implementation, support regional integration and contribute to Botswana’s economic transformation.
