Our CEO, Zwelibanzi Sapula, moderated a session under the theme “Development Finance in a Geopolitically Uncertain World.”

During the discussion, Mr. Sapula highlighted that to cushion the impacts of global geopolitical challenges, SADC must strengthen intra-regional trade. With a population of over 350 million people, the region has a significant market that should be leveraged to drive sustainable growth from within.

He further noted that uncertainty is here to stay, and the region must continue to adapt and innovate. While SADC has demonstrated resilience over time, development finance institutions (DFIs) play a crucial role in addressing market failures and supporting transformative regional development.
