SADC-DFRC Engages British High Commission on Development Finance and Regional Infrastructure Cooperation

SADC-DFRC was honoured to engage with the British High Commission in Botswana, represented by His Excellency Mr Giles Enticknap MBE, British High Commissioner and UK Representative to SADC, in a constructive discussion on development finance, regional infrastructure development, public-private partnerships (PPPs), and private capital mobilisation.

The SADC-DFRC delegation, led by Mr Zwelibanzi Sapula, Executive Director, and accompanied by Ms Chazha Macheng, Executive Officer: ED’s Office & Strategic Stakeholder Relations, highlighted the Centre’s mandate and strategic priorities. Discussions focused on strengthening Development Finance Institutions (DFIs), advancing PPP network development, enhancing project preparation capabilities, promoting policy harmonisation, and mobilising resources to support regional integration and sustainable development.

The engagement underscored strong areas of mutual interest, including strengthening enabling environments for investment, improving PPP frameworks, supporting the development of bankable regional projects, and exploring opportunities for technical cooperation and greater private sector participation across the SADC region.

SADC-DFRC values strategic partnerships and engagements that contribute to accelerating infrastructure development, unlocking investment opportunities, and advancing sustainable economic transformation throughout Southern Africa.
