On 15 October 2025, the SADC Development Finance Resource Centre (SADC-DFRC) held a courtesy meeting with the Special Economic Zones Authority (SEZA) to explore collaboration on enhancing infrastructure financing, investment facilitation, and capacity-building for SEZs in Botswana and across the SADC region.

The discussions brought together SEZA’s Acting CEO Tapiwa Masie, Acting Deputy CEO Thatayaone Ndzinge, and Director of Land & Infrastructure Development Goabaone Masike, alongside the DFRC team led by CEO Zwelibanzi Sapula, joined by Malefo Kawanza (Membership & Partnerships), Maipelo Stroh (Learning & Development), and Bryan Masheleng (ICT & Digital Transformation).

Both institutions reaffirmed their shared commitment to advancing industrialization, competitiveness, and regional integration through innovative financing mechanisms and sustainable development models.
