The CEO of the SADC-DFRC, Mr. Zwelibanzi Sapula, recently paid a courtesy visit to Dr. Nicolaus Shombe, MD of the National Development Corporation (NDC) of Tanzania. The meeting underscored the shared vision of fostering an integrated SADC region through strengthened development finance institutions (DFIs).

The two discussed the importance of building institutional capacity within SADC DFIs to ensure they play a pivotal role in driving sustainable economic growth and regional integration. A key outcome of the engagement was a commitment to closer collaboration in developing a sustainable DFI network that enhances the impact of local DFIs in financing industrialization, infrastructure, and economic transformation across the region.

By working together, the SADC-DFRC and the NDC of Tanzania aim to contribute to a more connected, resilient, and prosperous SADC community. This is a step forward in realizing a regional development finance ecosystem that effectively mobilizes resources to address Africa’s infrastructure and economic development needs.
