Mr. Zwelibanzi Sapula, Chief Executive Officer of the SADC Development Finance Resource Centre (SADC-DFRC), recently held a productive meeting with His Excellency Mr. Ahmet İdem Akay, Turkish Ambassador to Botswana, and Mr. Emir Cem Aslanargun, Deputy Head of Mission. Joining Mr. Sapula were Ms. Maipelo Stroh, Senior Capacity Building Officer, and Mr. Bryan Masheleng, Data Analyst.

The discussions centered on fostering collaboration between Türkiye, through the Turkish International Cooperation and Development Agency (TIKA), and the Southern African Development Community (SADC) region. Key focus areas included institutional capacity building and infrastructure financing, laying the groundwork for sustainable economic growth and development across the region.

Botswana’s strategic location within the SADC region further highlights its potential as a hub for regional development and a base for enhanced connectivity among member states. These discussions mark an important step toward cultivating partnerships, attracting foreign investment, and driving impactful development initiatives.
