Human Resource Development Forum Steering Committee

Steering Committe, 30th April to 1st May 2010

The Steering Committee of the Human Resources Development Forum of the DFI Network met at Midrand, South Africa on 30th April to 1st May 2010 to develop an Action Plan for the Forum for 2010. This included a review of the structure, working relations, Forum activities and plans for the Annual HRD Forum scheduled for October/ November 2010.

HRD Forum, 9th – 11th November 2009

The Human Resources Development Forum was convened in Windhoek, Namibia with the support of the National Housing Enterprise, Development Bank of Namibia and the Agricultural Development Bank of Namibia.

The programme focused on identification of skills shortages in the region and the challenges of human resource development and management in an environment of regional integration. The Forum relied on presentations from experts from the regional development banks and other human resource specialists. The Forum also elected a new Steering Committee to provide guidance to the growth of the Forum in the future.

A new leadership committee was elected into office, led by Mr Webster Gonzo, Human Resources Manager at the National Housing Enterprise of Namibia. Other members of the committee are drawn from the Development Bank of Southern Africa, Industrial Development Corporation of Zimbabwe, Citizen Entrepreneurial Development Agency and Tanzania Investment Bank. The CEOs of the three Namibian Development Banks graced the occasion.
