SADC DFI Network Chief Executive Officers to meet at Namibia in December

The Development Finance Resource  announces that the second biannual meeting of SADC Development Finance Institutions Network and SADC Sub-Committee on Development Finance will take place on 7th December 2012 in Walvis Bay, Namibia. This is a meeting of the chief executives of SADC development finance institutions and senior treasury officials from SADC governments convened to discuss the developments and performance of the Network, in particular the programme and activities of its Secretariat, the DFRC. The meeting also looks at policy developments in the field of development finance at the national and regional levels.

The meeting will be preceded by SADC DFI Network Chief Executives Forum to be held on 6th December 2012 at the same venue. The theme of the Forum will be on DEVELOPMENT FINANCE INSTITUTIONS CREDIT RATING AND PRUDENTIAL STANDARDS AND GUIDELINES RATING SYSTEM – IMPLEMENTATION AND CHALLENGES , and will draw speakers from the DFIs, private sector and the DFRC. The Forum looks at the experiences with the use of the Prudential Standards and Guidelines Rating System (PSGRS) of the African Association of Development Finance Institutions (AADFI) and credit rating practices, and how these can be deployed for the benefit of DFIs in the SADC region.
